  If the whole body was charred, then yes that is a way. The would recive DNA from them, or compare dental records. The teeth can help determine age, cause of death (I mean mur/der, accidential ect)

  They don't match the DNA, they use dental records of missing people, as well as medical records: broken bones and disorders are giveaways.
