Tropical Community fish and breeding?

Ok I am new to fish and I got two of the exact same fish one male and one female. If they breed can I keep the dad in the tank once there are eggs if so how do I know if they are there and if not do I have to take him out when they are born and if so can I ever put him back? Ok one more question- can they ever breed more then once? Thanks so much- if you cant answer everything thats ok I just need to know whatever I can!

They can breed more than once if the conditions are right. It depends on if your tropical fish are live bearers or egg layers. The off spring of both are suseptable when they are small to being eaten by mom and dad. (there are few parents that will either simply ignore their offspring or actually guard them) What you want to get is a lil nettted nursery that sits at the top of the tank and divides them or put them in a separate tank. Their water has to be kept very clean. When they grow big enough that they wont fit in mom or dad’s mouth, you can rejoin them. Look for baby fish food where you get pet supplies. Live baby shrimp brine and Sifted daphnia are good foods for lil ones. Just be sure to remove any extra food so you don’t pollute the water.
