How can a teacher who has been divorced over 5 times give an assignment asking us to write a 3-5 page paper on the true meaning of love?

Is There Even A Right Or Wrong Answer? Ugh I Hate School…But At This Point Who Doesn’t?

Answer #1

Maybe she wants to learn from her students, what the true meaning of love is so that she will not fail in her sixth marriage. … :)

Answer #2

I think it’s about perception. Just because she’s been divorced, doesn’t mean she hasn’t felt love. There’s no proven science behind “soul mates”, it’s all about beliefs. She can assign it to you, and apparently she has. I suggest you write it based on your ideas of the true meaning of love.

Answer #3

I mean in her next marriage… So all you need to write is what you have experienced with love. There is no limit or no judgement of true or wrong about love. It depends on self experiences… Good Luck. And that is interresting topic I believe :)

Answer #4

But isn’t ironic in a sense for her to come up with that assignment on Valentine’s Day no less like ugh.

Answer #5

it’s just a fun asssignmet, teachers are suppose to seperate personal and professional life anyway so i dont know how you found out but it shouldn’t have anything to do with the teacher.

Answer #6

To be honest it really doesnt matter if she was married 1x or 100x! It’s your assignment & you need to dig with in your very self to the depth of your core to find out what love means to you… not her!

I wish I had a subject like that in my days in school…we had the wackiest BS to write about!

I would take this as a learning experience rather then be questioning why she gave the assignment to you. (no offense!)

Answer #7

I think the assignment is on Valentine’s day purely because it’s the holiday for love. Her personal business isn’t about the curriculum.

Answer #8

Oh i take it as a learning experience i already wrote the paper about an hour ago it was easy i just found it ironic. and usually offense isnt taken until no offense is said

Answer #9

She writes about her life stories in her examples all the time… she claims she cant write about anything else on the spot

Answer #10

ok..I am trying to fig out how you saw that ironic. In today’s society, it’s really hard to find true love, most relationships are about common interests not based on love, so to me if people were more aware of that subject perhaps people would still believe in love… Unfort, they have seen what others have been through and have completely given up on finding true love…I hv heard 24+ guys say they dont even believe in love anymore…it’s all about the bling & the materialistic bs people find in relationships now a days. Everything based on betrayal, mistrust & greed! I am glad that teacher of yours made your class really think about it rather then write 1 page on it. More power to her!

Answer #11

I think the concept of love hasn’t changed too much. In the older days, people married for support in their life, like financial stability, and because that was what society told them to do. It was hard to find true love then, just as it is now, though now we have more ways to communicate and find what we’re looking for. We have a way to talk to people all around the world for as many hours as we please every day, instead of just around where we actually travel. Today love is hard to find though, because people are blinded by what they think love is. It’s not as big of a priority to get married and start your family since people are given much more choices these days, but in that same way, people have too much freedom in thought, so love can be missed or misinterpreted quite easily. I’d say the ratios on the matter are pretty even, just different times and cultures now.
