Stuck brass instrument valves
My euphonium’s 3rd valve likes to stick. I’ve oiled it 3 times, and thoroughly cleaned the valve and casing. The teacher won’t be getting more valve oil until Wednesday (a junior high kid stole mine). Is there anything else I can do?
I play the Euphonium as well :) anyway, I had that problem before too, take out the valve, check and see if the white piece (kinda like a line) is in the right slot, it could be backwards. This following monday if you haven’t fixed it send me an e-mail and I will send pictures to you explaining what to do and all that.
Don’t keep oiling it because thats what usually fixes it. It might have something to do with the plating on the metal being worn off. This is very serious problem and a very expensive one at that. Take it in.
