I myself have been diagnosed with ocd and the way i deal with it is i have to remind myself i am doing something compusively and sometimes that helps….i also have therapy and alot of friends and family members remind me when i am being compulsive….like usually i capatilize every letter at the beginning of the word i wrote a sticky note as an extra reminder and its stuck to the screen so i look at it when i type.
I used to be really compulsive until I started telling myself it won’t matter if I do the weird compulsive thing or not. Just keep telling yourself it’s not necessary and it might help:) But you should probably see a psychiatrist anyways:)
Start having someone or yourself, to stop you from that thing that you always have to do. The only way that you can stop it is by stopping what it is that your doing. You could also maybe get profecional help? Sometimes there is a cause why you have some kind of compulsion.
I have a mild case and it gets worse with anxiety. I try to exercise to get the anxiety down to help the ocd some.
I agree, My bf and I both have it, and its horrible because I want one thing one way and he will go behind me and re-arrange things his way… its horrible… But it helps because I realize I dont really NEED to have it my way, dispite how badly I have the urge to re-arange things by color where he does it by size….
