Sound on my computer

I had a guy “update” my computer and he uninstalled several things to make it faster that werent needed. But…now I have no sound. I have checked the sound mute, etc. and that is not the problem. Does anyone know how to solve this? I downloaded something last night that was supposed to help (Driver something) and I STILL dont have sound. HELP!

Try restarting your computer. If that doesn’t help, call the guy back and have him look at the sound.

Hi same thing happend t mine, I didn’t have sound for weeks, then after I scanned my computer for vires’s I found 25 threats! After I removed them the sound returned! I don’t know if this had anything to do with it or not though.

Have you tried restarting your computer? My laptop (on Vista) does that sometimes after an update.

yeah my laptop does that as well somehow my volume icon got lost and the only way I can get sound is if I remember the code on my keyboard lol Do you get sound when you plug something into the headphone jack? Do you already have somethingpluged into the head phone jack? try those things first

try to reinstal the sound driver .it may be on the CD that came with your pc.
