How much does sleep affect your immune system and health?

Answer #1

a good amount of sleep you should get each nite is about 7 hours, from past experiences froom not sleeping for about a week i would wake up and find all my muscles sore and feeling extremely weak

Answer #2

Emensly, I am currently seeing a cardiologist because I never hit hit the REM sleep, and am physically as well as mentally exhausted, it can cause a vast amount of trouble, including heart trouble.

Answer #3

I’ve rarely had any REM sleep, ever. Maybe twice in the lapse of my memory.

Answer #4

then perhaps you should seek medical advice there are 5 stages of sleep and you are apparently missing the most important one. I now have to use a CPAP machine to help me hit REM sleep, it isn’t fun BUT the sleep is GREAT and leaves me feeling rested for a change. It also helps to shut down the computer and game systems earlier to allow the body to shut down. No I am not a Dr. just a person who loves to feel well rested.

Answer #5

Haha, thank you, I’ll look into all of this :) much appreciated BTW.

Answer #6

Answer #8

A lot, your body needs rest to fight illness and such. Therefore Good sleep = good immunity. Bad sleep = Bad immunity

Answer #9

I can only attest to the mental health side of things. One of my first clients became psychotic from lack of sleep. Yeah, that was fun.
