Should I take my cat to the vet?

my cat sleeps wayyy to much, he only gets up to eat and to use the litter box… is this normal or should I take him to the vet???

Answer #1

cats are very fun to have around. even though they dont express there love..

huh? mine give kisses and shake hands (paws) on demand. they roll over when I sing to them. they come to me when I’m asleep and lick my nose to let me know they love me.

maybe they don’t know you’re craving attention … try bribing them with treats to show them how to express themselves more openly. … you know- kiss them 1st, then give the treat. they begin to make the connection between reward and affection. soon they’ll be kissing you and rubbing up against you for the treat (initially), but will learn to express affection even when there are no treats to be had.love can be a learning thing.

Answer #2

That is all my cat does too. She sleeps under the blanket in my parents room and never comes out. we just got a dog so now she really does come out and sniffs it and everything like that. but that is completely normal. although I can hardly do anything with my cat and my cat is very lazy, cats are very fun to have around. even though they dont express there love..

try to give him a little exercise with a feather at the end of a pole and string, a catnip filled mouse, throw fuzzy toys around for him to knock and toss around. he sounds like he’s bored or depressed. can you get him a kitten? - not a good idea if you can’t afford a 15-20 year commitment though. take him to the vet if he stops eating. I like to rock mine like babies and bounce them up and down. they crave that sort of hands-on attention. they get plenty to eat, sleep and play time with treats.

Answer #4

Well if he’s eating and using the litter box he should be fine, generally when they’re not doing that, it is time to get worried, also, is this new behavior?

Answer #5

that is very normal for an old cat. if its young, then that might be a problem! hope I helped!
