Why do I need to sign in to Google to watch my YouTube account?

I’ve never had to, but then it’s been awhile sinced I’ve logged in. It makes me mad when things are working just fine and someone changes it to a non-user friendly, more technology, pain in the A@@ !!!!! I guess it keeps the tech geeks in a job.

Thanks, what if you only have a youtube account and not a google? Any difference?

Me and my husband have our own Youtube accounts I have two my husband has three and I’m always fogetting my password and it drives me nuts. If we wanted a Youtube account each of us had to sign up with Google. I guess it’s because Google is probably connected to Youtube.

If your youtube account was created before this change, not sure when that was exactly but if your youtube account is at least a few months old then you have nothing for it to be linked with if you havent created a google account. So no difference. These days though, you get a google account with your youtube one, you get it whether you want it or not.

Ok, well there is someone on google that I thought about contacting, (old military buddy) and so far that seems to be the only way to get ahold of him. I just did’nt sign up because I don’t spread myself out that thin. I’m not even on facebook!!!! Thanks for your advice,
