Which is better: uniforms or plain clothes?

in the uk for school we have 2 wear a uniform! which do you think is best & safer? uniform or plain clothes?

Answer #1

I wore uniforms for 12 years and I personally loved it you didnt have to pick out cloths etc but only bad part bout it was that I didnt have many non school cloths lol.. so uniforms all the way

Answer #2

well I had to go to a catholic school for a few years before I got kicked out…uniforms sucked…then I went back to a regular school with normal clothes, same thing with highschool…freedom of expression is key when you’re growing up

Answer #3

As someone who’s been to both schools where you have to wear uniforms, and schools where you don’t, my preference is for schools with uniforms. Kids can get destroyed by others for wearing unfashionable clothes at a non-uniform school, and if a kid comes from a poor family its more apparent at a non-uniform school - which only serves to alienate certain kids even more. In the whole, I found non-uniform school’s to be a harsher environment that school’s with uniforms - personally, if I have a family one day I would prefer my kids to go to a school where they wear uniforms.

Answer #4

I can agree with both, cause there are some days where I just dont feel like having to pick out what wear and stuff. But other days I feel like I really want to express my clothing style, and how I’m feeling, and look cute.

Answer #5

I think it makes sense to have a uniform, it cuts down on the bulling if kids dont have the “right” clothes.. also it stops unwanted people getting into the school!

Answer #6

Of course is uniform.I love wearing uniform.(Even thought my school uniform dont look good).Cause I can make it look really sexy. =P I mean, can fold my skirt.Tuck out my shirt. And it look cool. And after school, can just wear uniform and go shopping. Its good because I dont need to use my brain and think what to wear. ^^

Answer #7

I never had to wear them but would have loved to be able to know every day what I was wearing to school the next day. I think it would have cut down on a lot of the richer kids picking on the poorer kids for not having the right kind of clothes. Teens have ice thin self esteem anyway and it seems with the more media choices we have, teens don’t stand a chance these days. Uniforms would make lots of kids’ lives easier and school isn’t forever and it’s not 24/7 so there is also plenty of time for your own style to show through.

Answer #8

I have recently moved to a shool that isnt mainstream and its own clothes which is wierd because from yr are to year 8 I wore uniform and I always wished it was own clothes but now I wish I wear uniform because it is stressfull when you dont want to wear the same pair of jeans or w.e but you have to, and it would cut out allot of the stress !

Answer #9

I say plain cloths it allows you to express urself and feel free but uniforms are safer because now people get killed 4 what they wear

Answer #10

OF COURSE PLAIN CLOTHES!!! Uniforms are damn stupid!!!

Answer #11

ok you have 2 tell wear wht da tell you so spice it up

Answer #12

Plain clothes. A uniform just sucks out your soul.

Answer #13

I think tha t plain clothes would be better mostly because it helps kids relax more and they’ll feel more comfortable in there clothes

Answer #14

oo and im in the uk aswell :D

Answer #15

as someone whos never been to a school thats enforced uniforms I cant say Im the uppermost authority on this question. but in my opinion, if and when I choose to have children I will enroll them in a school with this in place. as a young person other young people can pick out even the most ineffectual details of a person and pick on them endlessly. I think that being in a school where people are less consumed by the latest fashion trends and the extravagant things they can afford makes for a much better and more enlightening learning experience. with less to worry about young people have more time and effort to put into their school work. I know theres a few of you who will respond by saying that this will take away from the individuality of a person, but to those people I say: if you have a strong personality and a strong sense of self, what you wear has no bearing.
