Is it safe to take my puppy to the beach?

And am I allowed to? (huntington beach) he’s a pug puppy.. I want to know if I’m allowed to, and if it’s a good idea with the sand and all….

Answer #1

As long as you keep the pup on a leash so it doesn’t run away or run into the ocean!

Answer #2

lol that would suck… I think he would have so much fun… he has his shots.. thank you :)

Answer #3

And hey, you may make some new friends… puppies always attract people!

Answer #4

If you have a leash and a strong hold then yeah :) -if your puppy is known for biting at all, maybe get a muzzle or whatever they are called. -I know that may sound weird but my grandparents used to have a HUGE german shepard named Shep haha - but when he was still little and a puppy he tried to bite some woman’s dog (out of playing not trying to hurt the other dog) and the woman sued them for like $5,000 bucks. So be careful :)

Answer #6

Answer #7

Answer #8

There are usually signs on the beach which indicate whether dogs is allowed or not. In our country dogs are allowed on most beaches. If you are unsure, ask the lifeguards or someone who works there.

Remember (as have been mentioned) to get a good leash for your dog. A long leash works nice when you are at the beach, cause then you can give your dog a certain amount of freedom

Answer #9

Its not safe ..

Answer #10

I’d be careful with a Pug and all that sand. Their eyes stick out and are the first things on a Pug to catch anything. Sand grains could scratch his cornea’s. They also like to dig and sniff…sand not only in his eyes but up that short snout.

They also have an intolerence to heat…so I’d make sure that the temps are reasonable…like don’t take him if it’s over 85 degrees…take plenty of water for him to drink… and keep him on your towel.

Answer #11

His Grandpa and uncle are going to babysit him. lol. I don’t want him to be around the humidity, either. Thank you!

Answer #12

I’d love to see the muzzle that might fit a Pug…they don’t have a nose to slide it on….LOL.

Answer #13

Lol I know! I’d need something flat…. really flat.
