Why do I get redirected to another question after I answer one sometimes?

Sometimes, I answer a question, and instead of it posting it and staying on that same question page, it automatically takes me to a new question. It was throwing me off, I thought my answer didn’t go through, so I would go back and find that question again, my answer was there though.

It’s possible the question was in the transition of being moved to the status update board.

This is not the same but sometimes when i check an alert it takes be to the wrong question. Hmm…

Hmm, that is probably why. I looked for the certain questions that gave me that issue, and it was in status updates.

Ah, same issue - eg, if you got an alert for a question, not a status update, and it was moved to become a status update, it’ll redirect you to the nearest match question…it’s a bit confusing, I know.

Thing is, we had to deal with some issues on site involving duplicate questions, so we put that in place. I’ll check with the engineers to see if we can put up a notice or something that explains what happened, when you get redirected, so at least it’s a bit less confusing.
