The best way to learn Germany is to have someone who is German (or has a strong background with it) teach you it. When you have someone actually teaching you it, they can explain a lot of the different phrases, word usages, and meanings behind everything. I don't find that any book or online translator does the job quite well enough. Translators especially mix up words and use incorrect wording quite often. (My whole family is German and I speak it on a daily basis, so I do understand the difference.)
That being said, the only way to go about doing this cheaply or free is if you befriend someone who would be willing to teach you it or hire a tutor. You could try the book route, but again, books can't quite cover what someone who actually speaks the language can. So if you can, doing it in-person would be the best and most beneficial way for you.
depends on what kind of learner you are. I find for me it is easier to watch my fav movie or show to help with the language, but, that does not help you learn the rules or tricks of the language. I sugest to get a book that you can read and than watch someting that can be changed into another language like a movie or tv show.
Ich bin deutsch! I can't speak fluent german, but I learned a lot form this book/cd thing I bought. It comes with two disks and a book. It teaches you all kinds of crap and you learn to pronounce it correctly from the disks. :)
Books are not much help when it comes to how to correctly pronouce the words, videos and tapes are the easiet ways to learn how to speak it the correct way.
get one of thoes books to speak another language they sell them in local bookstores for cheap.
Haha, you know some stuff already. Where'd you learn to say thankyou?
do you think, reading or hearing it ,which do u think it easier.
