Ps2 slim

I have a ps2 slim and I want to hook up to the internet to play online games…we have two computers but the one I use is upstairs and the wireless router is down stairs so there is no way to connect the ps2 to the router … Is there any other what to connect to the net besides have to use a router… To be honest I do not even know what to do to hook up … Just taking advice from others and hoping someone can help show me how to do the right thing Thanks all

I have a wireless gaming adapter. It’s basically the receiving end of a router. Costs about 100 bucks. That’s what I had hooked up to my PS2 (the old brick!) before I moved it to the room with the router and just plugged it in.

In your case, I don’t believe your parents will let you drill a hole in the floor to run an ethernet cable so the wireless is the way you’ll have to go.

One option is the NETGEAR WGE111 54 Mbps Wireless Game Adapter. Another is the Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapter. This is a 3rd Gen unit. You’ll need a Linksys Wireless-N Router to get the full effect. (Wireless-N basically sends the full signal. Wireless-G only lets you use 54 mbps versus the N’s 100. Break it down farther than that it means that Wireless-N is like plugging it in, you receive/send the full amount of the signal from the wall).

The website for the Netgear is: http://www.netgear.com/Solutions/HomeNetworking/Gaming.aspx The website for the Linksys is: http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/products/WGA600N

Any other questions, let me know. I’ll see if I can help out. 8D
