How can I prevent a rash or razer bumps when shaving down there?

I shave all of it but a landing strip. I use to wax but it was too painful so then I used nair, but i did not like the chemicals in it so now I shave. The problem is I get a rash and bumps and its irritating. How can I prevent these. and if there is a way to do so without using products from the store would be great but if not then just name them and say where i can buy them. Thank you.

dont shave when you only have a little bit of stubble! the longer it is, the easier it is to shave because it involves less tug. also, i suggest exfoliating first to remove any dead skin. if you do cut yourself, use polysporine or something of the same variaty to prevent ingrown hairs :)

Olive oil & baby oil work. Make sure you use the oils with a razor that you don’t plan on using again cause the oil gets stuck in the razor & its pointless.

I would suggest using an eletric razor actually. You get the same results as a razor and it’s not as messy to do. It’s also less painful and you dont get any razor bumps, burns, nicks. I personally like remmington eletric shavers like this one: http://funadvice.com/r/boftgaekfcc# . But as for shaving with a razor, use hair conditioner instead of shaving cream.

Have you tried Gilette Pro Fusion Glide yet? It’s kind of worth it even though it’s a tad bit expensive. Also, the refills are expensive too and AAA batteries needed. I just use hot water in the shower with that and it works like a charm.
