Why do people like to stick their tongue out in their pictures?

Some do it because it is cultural to do so e.g. indigenous New Zealanders. Some others do it because in their cultures it is considered rude - so they do it because they want to be slightly rude without actually doing anything really harmful or too offensive. It makes them feel a bit cheeky and humorous. . However it is more correct to say that (most) people do not like to show their tongues out in their pictures. A quick look over the personal pictures posted by users of FunAdvice shows clearly that the huge majority of those pictures do not have the tongue out. . So I suggest that the question is flawed and it is in fact correct to conclude that generally speaking: . “… people do not like to show their tongue out in their pictures …”. .

I do it because I have a tongue ring and I was making a point that I have many piercings. haha ^_^

I am pretty certain that pictures have been taken of people with their tongues out routinely and regularly since photography was first invented.
