Answer #2

Answer #3

Answer #4

birthday money?

Answer #5

Yes

Answer #6

Of course they can, they’re your parents and you basically are expected to listen to what they say. But I think you should be allowed to spend your own money on things you like, afterall it’s your money and with this, you learn to manage your money and learn the value of a dollar.

Answer #7

(a) They can tell you that they are not allowing you to buy it (they are allowed to give you directives). . (b) You can then go out and buy it anyway (it is not illegal for you to do so even though they said no). . (c) You take it home and they are within their rights to confiscate it and prevent you from wearing it, but it is still your property so they must preserve it in good condition and return it to you when you become an adult at age 18. . (d) If they do not preserve it in good condition, you would in principle be able to sue them for compensation, though it would not be worth the hassle, legal expense, or resultant family rift, to do so. . Best wishes - Majikthise. .

Answer #8

erm, ask them why they dont want you to get the shirt? and try and convince them that it is your money, you should be able to spend it on what you like

Answer #9

probably they want you to be responsible and shop smart and not on things they think you probably don’t need..

Answer #10

I would also say yes. No matter whose money that is, parents will always have the right to tell their kids what is good for them. It is up to the children if they want to listen or not.

Answer #11

Well in my day parents had ultimate control of their children up until the age of 32 or so and would thrash them severely if they violated the parental guidelines, but things are so different today it seems parents have no control of their children from the word go. Ah well, that’s life!
