How to deal with somebody I know being in the hospital?

Someone I know overdosed on this, he’s in the hospital. He and some “druggies” did a little skittling activity and he overdosed, now he’s in the hospital and on life support. He is 16 years old and I think his older brother died of an overdose already. =[ I was just wondering what the chances of living are after overdosing on this drug? Anybody know or have a clue or experience they can relate to?

(btw he’s not my friend he’s just someone I go to school with though)

death, no matter how close you are to a person can really bother you if it’s someone the same age as you. you don’t need to know them, the mere fact they are the same age as you makes you look at mortality and lifein a totally different way, kind of blows the ‘t won’t happen to me’ theory right out of the window!

if you don’t really know him, I think you wanting to visit him may be a little bit of curiosity.. which is natural, but the only people who can tell you his prognosis, are his doctors and consultants…and even then, you’re not family, so they’re unlikely to divuldge that information to you.

I think (and it’s only an idea) maybe speaking to the school nurse may help.

my best friend commited suicide when he was 18, I had known him since I was 5 years old, and the whole event was traumatic to be honest, even to this day I miss him. but that was very different becuase I was close to him.

whereas, when I was at school a 15 year old boy commited suicide…rumours were rife as to why, and I am unlikely ever to find out the real reason. but it was more of an ‘event’ a source for gossip, completely wrong in hindsight, but things are different at school.

just send a card if you feel you want to do something, but hopefully is situation will act as a good message to those thinking of doing drugs…that is the only thng to be gained from these very sad situations…

just send a card if you want to do something, but I thnk your interest may be something completely harmless…

Thanks guys!

Good News, he is doing better and can talk and stuff now! Wow from everything I had heard he sounded like he wasnt going ot make it but now he’s much better I guess! Yeah he had shot up some ecstacy too… man that’s even worse, but now that he’s okay I’m sure he may think twice about all of that. Hopefully! Thanks for your answers and stuff guys! ♥
