How do you order something "to go" in German?

like if you want to order some food to go…

Answer #1

The German phrase for takeout is “zum mitnehmen”. So if you want to order a coffee to go for example, you would say “ein Kaffee zum mitnehmen, bitte”. It’s the same with food or anything else.

Answer #2

Just for all the english speaking folk, lol Can you break that down in to Syllables? Like “zoo-mmmm….Ect” Because this is pretty cool ^_^

Answer #3

Sure! It’s pronounced “tsoom MIT-naymen”. A letter “Z” in German is pronounced with a “ts” sound.
