Obgyn visit urgent?

I was supposed to return for my annual pap smear in mid march, but between work and such I havent had the time. It would be the most convenient to return in september, but I dont know if this is too long to wait. I have never had a bad pap smear. Should I be more concerned because my boyfriends ex girlfriend had a abnormal pap smear, but when she went it to have the cells examined it turned out that she was fine and there was no trace of abnormal cells. I guess my question is should I go to obgyn as soon as possible?
