This might sound crazy to you.My feet crack and I’ve used everything and nothing helps, until I got a e-mail from my mom from a lady stating that her husband has been a doctor for 35yrs.He had gain green on his feet so bad no medicine would cure it completly and that her feet would crack and bleed and she soaked her feet over night in moisterizers it helped, but not for long.so she put half and half hydrogen peroxide and water. She sprayed her feet and let them dry on there own every night before bed,and her feet healed. So she sprayed her husbands as well and the gain green is completly gone. She uses it on everything counter tops, wood floors, bathroom, ect.because it kills all germs.Anyway so I tried it and in less than a week I have no cracks, and my feet are soft.I had deep dry cracks.I hate wearing shoes at home.So I hope you try it because it really works in all those ways.

vaseline won’t hun.

ok, dry heels can be because you arn’t getting enought good fats and oils in your diet, try a omega supplement.

go to a peodiatrist and get all the hard skin scraped off. if you can’t do that, you can’t buy a foor scraper. there’s two available, one looks like a cheese grater (that is great! I use that, they don’t recomend them for some reason, but they work REALLY well!) and it’s hard skin, so you won’t feel anything…also there’s one that looks like an emery board, does a similar job, but I think it’s good to use after the cheese grater one.

after that, you skin will be sooo soft - you can either buy a heel balm cream, specifically made for dry cracked heels, or you can just cream often.

hard skin is often genetic, my feet are the same, and I get it from my mum (cheers mum!). I think wearing socks is a good way to reduce the amount of hard skin you get.

in a way it’s a good thing, if you were born 20000 years ago, the other cave gals would be envious of your efficient survival feet!

use the scraper often and, flip flops don’t help probably, but if you are inclinded to get hard dry skin, you will…it’s just about controling it…

gangerein is dead necrotic tissue, that speads - it had nothing to do with dry feet! you CAN’T treat gangerene…the tissue is dead and toxic to the other tissue, it has to be amputated…tsk!

I live in the desert as well and am on my feet a lot and I too have cracked feet. But I used to live in Michigan and I had cracked heels there too. I put lotion on them every morning when I get out of the shower and it’s not so bad now. Some times of the year it’s worse than others.

But like a previous poster said, go to your local Wal-Mart and find the “As Seen on TV” section. There’s a product called “Ped-Egg” and its an egg shaped grater. IT works GREAT! My toes have a callist thing (spelling?) and my heels are cracked slightly. You rub the egg and smooth out your skin. After that put some good lotion on your feet and it will help.

I have horrible cracks on my feet and the only way to get rid of them completely is to wear socks for a while and I use flexitol every night before bed. The cracks were gone by the time the tube ran out. About 7 straight days. But…if you go back to wearing sandles the cracks will come back if you don’t use the flexitol every once and a while. I swear that flexitol is miracle cream. I can’t live without it in the summer.

Answer #6

yep, vaseline doesnt help and yes, your feet are like that from probably wearing flip flops all the time and being bare feet also if you wear heels a lot that will make them worse use moisturiser on them at night and then put a pair of socks on when you wake up they should be a bit smoother but it will take a few weeks/months of doing that to get them looking better also go to a pediatrist as sooitca said

Answer #7

Vaseline won’t help much as the cracking is layers of dead skin. Living in the desert I deal with dry skin all the time. You need to buff them to remove the dead skin and the use an intense moisturizer ( I like Aveeno) making sure to really rub it in good a couple of times a day. Once they are nice and soft, keep them soft by buffing them about once a weak and use lotion on them every day.

Yep, you need a combination of properly-designed foot creams and some kind of pumice stone thing, as most people above are saying. I’ve got to know the problem times of year for my feet, and now I start treating them with cream even before the problems occur. For me those times are: 1) when I begin wearing summer sandals, and 2) in the really cold mid-winter. The rest of the time they’re not so bad, but if I don’t use a cream at those times of year I get horrible cracks. I think that’s normal.
