she started out modeling as Norma Jean Baker then became Marilyn Monroe and became an actress. She was really famous for her “Happy Birthday” song to John F. Kennedy. And she was married to a Joe DeMagio (sp?) a Yankee, even though it didn’t last very long they still remained friends. She mainly became famous though because she was a very popular “sex symbol”. Then in the Seven Year Itch when she did the shoot where her skirt blew up over the subway vents in New York she hit the height of her popularity. Marilyn Monroe will always be someone that everyone has heard of.
