life decision

well I went thorugh meps( if you are in military you know well what this is) and I am also joined the navy. MY problem is this though I had always wanted to pursue the navy and do the navy seals program and I have done the pst so I can sign a new contract to train as one. but after I took my asvab, I know im jumping around in time but follow alone haha. so I took my asvab and scored very high to the point the nuclear engineering program wants to me test and sign up for their program…my problem is which one should I join? on one hand the nuclear program will excel as far as mone is concered going into a civilian job making roughly six figures. on the other hadn you have navy seals which makes decent money but at the same time they are more of a statues rather than making money. I just wanted opinons and which you think I should pursue becuase the one path I take is going to lead to a very different life compared to the other.

yes I know about the whoel degree thing and college can be done in the navy and something like nuke program would gie me 93 college credits but in the nuclear field aspect and well navy seals doesnt have much college to do since they go aobut their job very different from a nuke

If you go into the Seals, I sincerely doubt you would ever return to civilian life. I know all the lifers in the Navy started out aiming for those types of positions. The people I know who qualified for nuclear positions wound up getting jobs on subs which, well, months of being cramped on a tiny little hallway of a vessel without even a place to sleep that is your own.

Don’t think “six figures when I get out”. . .think, “do I want to do this as a career for the rest of my life?” If you want to be in the Navy for life, then Seals, if not, then I’d look @ the options to make your enlistment the easiest time possible with the most job training to make college easier in the end (yes, you will still need a degree and yes, it can be done while in the Navy but you need a degree).
