When some says "labor and delivery" does it mean she's about to give birth?

Answer #1

Based on the info here, YES.

Answer #2

Labor and delivery is a branch of a hospital that deals with the entire labor, delivery, and aftercare of a woman giving birth.

If a woman says she is going to labor and delivery it generally means she believes that she is in “active” labor and is going to deliver her newborn baby in the next few hours/days, depending on how long her particular labor last.

Not every woman that goes in is neccasarily having a baby right away. Some women go in with false labor and are monitered, and then sent home.
