Why is joking about rape so funny to certain people?!!?

Answer #1

joking about rape is not funny at all, it is a very serious topic, and a very serious crime, and it should not be taken lightly i think the people who joke about rape and people who find it funny think this because they simply do not realize the harm in it, and they do not realize how serious the topic of rape truly is

Answer #2

It’s easier to desensitize yourself when you can joke about something terrible. People make jokes about the Holocaust, about death and disease, torture, and yes, rape. It’s easier to deal with things when you think of them differently.

Answer #3

It’s a fact of life you’re going to have to accept I’m afraid. If you check out sikipedia.org you’ll see innumerable jokes about every disgusting subject you can think of, including Downs Syndroms, dead babies, cancer, rape, jews, gingers, abusing women and pretty much anything that could be considered offensive. I’ve laughed

Answer #4

OOOOOPS. wasn’t finished.. one sec

Answer #5

^^ at a joke in pretty much every one of these categories. That doesn’t mean I’m a bad person, or would ever consider doing anything in these jokes or telling them to someone who would find it offensive or laugh at someone when they were in this situation. But I have to admit, I find them funny. They are funny. I think they can be absolutely hilarious. The more insulting the better. I can’t explain it, I just know that I am one of those people (within reason). This is probably not going to make me very liked.. but whatever. It’s the truth :/ they’re hilarious. In my opinion, anyone who doesn’t find them funny are either secretly laughing inside but don’t want to go to hell or appear to be a bad person, or they have been in a traumatic situation related to the joke and it brings up bad memories. But if you can’t laugh at something then ask yourself why. You won’t come up with anything, and you’ll laugh.

Answer #6

THERE”S NO REASON TO JOKE ABOUT ANY OF THAT STUFF> that’s called immaturity.

Answer #7

Well, no?

Answer #8

i find the rapist glasses video funny as hell.. that canadian bloke does it.

he also did the paedophile beards..

theres a fine line crossing what ppl find funny but it doesnt make them sick or inhuman to find it funny.

its a joke and a joke is something thats trying to make people laugh. if they dont like it its pretty simple, dont watch or read it.

Answer #9

Jokes are often meant to shock the audience, it’s not about immaturity. People joke, it is part of life. If we stopped making jokes that might offend people, we’d have no jokes left. There is a difference though, in how the joke is intended. It is usually pretty clear when the person making the joke is quite serious, they truly believe something, and when the person does not actually believe in the thing they’re joking about (for example, a lot of comics make jokes based on racial stereotypes, it is obvious the comic does not actually believe those stereotypes…)

Answer #10

i think they are horrible. i hate jokes about things that are scary or about things that people cant even help (like downs syndrome). and the dead baby jokes are nasty.

Answer #11

amen! :)

Answer #12

try the website I mentioned before: http://funadvice.com/r/14m9uai2sni and if you don’t find any of the jokes funny (just because you don’t laugh at them it doesn’t mean you don’t find them hilarious) then fair enough, you’re a perfect person, yay you. But if you find a single one of them slightly funny then stop preaching about how they’re nasty. They’re a joke. Jokes are meant to be taken lightly. They’re hilarious

Answer #13

Yeah and there’s just certain things you shouldn’t joke about , so just give it up.

Answer #14

So where’s this boundary that you cross?

~ Josef Fritzl just bought an Apple. He doesn’t like Windows.

~ My girlfriend and I went to a restaurant for dinner. It was a nice meal and we were ordering dessert. I asked the waiter how much the pie was. “£3.14 sir.” he replied. “That’s funny.” I chuckled. “What’s that sir?” he asked. “That Downs syndrome boy just tried to hug a heater and burnt himself.” We both had a good laugh.

(I realise that I’ve probably just offended a LOT of people. But I’d just like to say that despite finding these jokes hilarious, I do not condone rape, or disrespect people with life affecting conditions. I’ve never been rude to a Downey in my life. I just appreciate a good joke when I hear it.)

Answer #15

I guess it’s because it turns some people on…Taboo…

Answer #16

And I understand that. But it’s not funny. When I said people shouldn’t joke about rape, I was referrin to a bunch of kids I know that like to say they’re going to constantly rape someone… And they think it’s funny. THATS why it bothered me.

Answer #17

LOL no. They’re just funny. When you laugh at a joke does that mean it turns you on? What a strange idea..

Answer #18

it’s not so much the jokes about rape i… it’s the people saying theyre going rape each other and such… It’s disgusting, disrespectful, and rude…

Answer #19

If a joke has an element of actual real life serious violence then it loses its humour and becomes creepy or scary. But that’s an entirely different sort of humour all together and I think is meant as more of a threat

Answer #20

I meant laughing about rape itself..not just any joke

Answer #21

those people need help.lol

Answer #22

Well, that’s what I meant. And that’s why I was getting so offensive. Sorry.

Answer #23

I’ma go ahead and apologise too. I get uptight about some things. Let’s not let this come between us.. :)

Answer #24

It’s not FUNNY at all and no one should think it is. And if you do then your stupid as hell.

Answer #25
