My itunes library is on my desktop computer and I recently got a laptop. The desktop is in my parents room so its a bother to go in there all the time and search and sync music. So my question is, is there anyway I can get my desktop itunes library onto my new computer? Please give me your advicee!!:)
You can use your iPod to help you transfer. Here are some tips:
If all your songs were purchased from iTunes store, use "Transfer Purchases" option to transfer. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329
If some of your songs were from other sources, you will need to utilize some iPod transfer program to help you, like this handy one called Tansee iPod Transfer http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tansee-iPod-Transfer.htm Many of my friends are using it for its easy and safe transfer.
With just a few simple clicks, it will help you transfer all songs/videos from iPod to your selected folder on your computer, and then you can also easily add those files back to iTunes. More importantly, this won't overwrite any original files on your iPod. And all song names are preserved.
Here is the step-by-step guide on the whole process: http://gutensoft.com/Guide/How-to-transfer-songs-and-videos-from-ipod-to-computer.htm
Best luck!
well the only option it gives me when I plug it in is erase and sync or cancel and if I do the earase and sync it will do nothing but delete everything since I have no music on my new itunes. IM confussed,, helllp! lol
OKAY so if you download Itunes 8 there is an option that you can download your entire itunes library to a cd or dvd then burn that onto your new itunes or your new computer
All you have to do is put itunes on your new computer, plug in you ipod and press "transfer songs or purchases or something like that" I think that should work
Yea there is but its really complicated sorry lol When I got my laptop I just redownloaded ALL of my music. But I hope you can find a better way
okay thanks for all your help:)
Is there any other option?
