I want to be a singer/dancer
ok im 13 years old in cartersville georgia I really want to be a singer/ dancer I dont know what to do 1st do I go try and find places to prforme at do I have to write my own songs what to do??? im pretty good at both im getting singing and dancing lessons but whats after that??? please help
I want to the same thing too! I’m in dance recitials evry year so I’m preety used to being in front of a huge group of people! I love to sing! When ever I hear a song I have to sing! I always make up dances for them too! I can’t ever sit still when music starts playing!
start making videos and sending to agencies post them on youtube … you could perform in places like at a fair or something I mean if this is really what you want you have to be fully committed and ready to do what ever it takes I wish you the best of luck !! :)
After that you will need to get your name out there. I’d recommend finding a local civic theatre and start going to auditions for any upcoming presentations they are preparing for.
you do not have to write your own songs, many people make it big and never write a song for themselves… however learning to read/write music, and taking some instruction on basic music theory.
if you really would like to get aggressive with the music, you might need to find representation (aka, an agent). However agents are NOT free, and can be rather pricy. I’d start local with civic theatre for the time being.
