Can anyone tell me whats the best way to study Accounting Principles. Please I need specific answers,I am the type who can sit in front of a desk for 5 hours straight.I can't study with noise not even when people whisper.I use lots of colours.I CANNOT read ANY book without a pen in my hand to write down notes excluding fiction books ofcourse. That's a little bit about me.Anyone who works in an accounting firm or is studying accounting...can you share with me your studying techniques.I personally find accounting extremely overwhelming if it is studied all at once or if I don't pay attention to even one small detail. The thing is I could break it down but I won't have enough time then.Okay thanks a lot!
Usually before my exams, I practice on two or three problems on each topic, but I find that when I actually write the exams, I get all confused and usually end up doing the wrong thing. Anyone ever experienced the same thing? Is it because I didn't do enough problems? Usually I get all confuse when the problems in the exam is modified. Anyone know where I can find accounting problems on the internet with answers and explanations? I don't usually do much of the problems in my text book because they don't have answers to them, so I can't check myself. Thanks
You know...I study accounting like somebody studying philosophy which is good since I don't memorize and I do know by heart which transactions go into which report...it's just the time issue thats weighing me down...if only there was a simple way of UNDERSTANDING something without spending HOURS on a subject...I find myself always contemplating on every sentence in the book and it's incredibly time consuming not to mention inefficent and I always manage to come late to class and sleep thorugh exams...GRRR!!!Thats one big E for moi!
I study accounting. The best way to do accounting is to do questions, questions and more questions and then after you've done all the questions on a topic, make a short one page summary of the core principles you have learnt. If you need any more advice feel free to funmail me.
Oh man thanx a lot LOL!!man it's giving me a headache...yeah I think practice makes perfect...just my proffs a total KILLER!!!grrr!!! Okay so I'll just read normally no taking notes... Do EVERY QUESTION... Then Write down summary...
On snap saved ma life!lol!
Personally, I find that keeping lists and charts always helps. It's confusing to remember where certain transactions belong, so by keeping charts of which transaction belongs with which report, it helps keep things on the right track.
Do your questions before you do your theory (I know it's not always practical, but most of the time it actually works better) and take notes in class, but just so you stay focused and then questions, questions, questions.
practice alots of questions as much as you can. zaidsyed
