how do you start a career in music if you are really good?

OK my real name is Lindsey and I am an awesome singer I mean really good I have won11 metals and sung in the county fair but I feel that I am not getting any where with my music so can some one pleas tell me what I have to do to make it to the top?

You could do research on the internet to find recording studios in your area. Once you do that, contact the studios about the possibilty of recording a song. Find out availability dates, fees, etc. If it is possible for you to record, talk with your parents about it. I am certain if they really love you, they will give their full support.

Promote yourself everywhere you can. There are several web sites now devoted to musicians who wish to promote themselves. These can help, but the best way is still to be constantly in the public eye, performing at every gig you can get. This means you probably want a complete band to work with.

Once you’ve made a local name for yourself, you might try an independent recording which you can market locally. This is the point where a good manager can be the difference between success and failure.

Try reading through wiki pages on self-made artists, like John Mayer for example. The bios include a synopsis of how they did it.

Try out for American Idol…?? You don’t have to win to get picked up by a music producer…all you have to be is very good.
