How do you pierce your conch or hip?

I’ve been thinking about doing them myself (yes I know this can be risky and I should get it done by a professional, but I’m not 18 and my mom is a stubborn one). I’ve done several piercings by myself and they’ve been fine. Such as my cartilage- I’d imagine the conch would be pretty similar. Also, what kind of needle would you want to use/where would you get it. I’m looking for information not your opinions- not to be mean. :)

actually I’m not eighteen- nice counting skills, I’m seventeen and I didn’t ask for your opinion thanks though :) and I’m not doing my hip I’m only doing my ear cause it’s easy and I’ve done it before to my cartilage.

Not me I just copy/pasted these: I did this last year. It is easy and it doesn’t hurt very much. I kept the earring that they gave me when they pierced my ear lobes , which has a sharper back then normal earrings. I had cleaning supplies so I cleaned off the earring and my ear with that. I made a mark of where I was going to pierce , and pushed it through. It took a while to heal but worked out perfectly.

Surface piercings shouldn’t be attempted yourself, you’re guaranteed rejection and then you’ll have some lovely scars. Go to a professional. And microdermals actually have a lower rejection rate and look better in my opinion. If you want to do it yourself, have fun f*cking up your hips, and enjoy the pain from infection and rejection =D

you shouldn’t be an idiot and pierce anything yourself especially something like your hip which is a surface piercing there are many things that could go wrong also if you cant be bothered to get a hole in your flesh professionally pierced you shouldn’t be getting one AT ALL a piercing is a wound and there’s a lot more to piercing than just stabbing yourself with a needle plus your 18 now, your considered an adult and your old enough to go out and get piercings without your parents consent

I did my conch myself (I regret it, but no opinions…) I would never do it with anything but an actual piercing needle, they are pretty easy to get ahold of, but if you can’t, go out and get a 16 gauge heavy duty sewing needle. They are very cheap too. The way I did it:

  1. soaked the needle in boiling water to sterilize (after this do NOT touch the needle again with bare hands)
  2. Wash your hands
  3. Clean the entire area and surroundings with peroxide (but never use peroxide on the actual piercing)
  4. Place a flashlight to the back of you ear (conch) ad turn it on, you will be able to see the veins.
  5. While you can see the veins mark the spot where you would like to pierce
  6. wash you hands again, and put on rubber gloves
  7. lubricate the end of the needle with vaseline (I use bacitin)
  8. Place a cork or something of the sort at the back of where you are piercing
  9. take the needle and line everything up the way you want
  10. push like hell, as hard as you can. It hurts much much more if you dont get it through the first time. ( I sometimes use pliers because I can’t get a good grip on the needle)

There ya go. Advice though…if the cartilage in the conch area is too thick, I would suggest waiting until you are old enough because you can do a lot of damage…but otherwise, have fun with it :)
