How do you give yourself highlights?

cutie, You will have to use foils if you want a better effect the the good ol’ cap. It would take me way to long to explain how to do it, I took quite a few hair styling classes, and do my own. there’s all sorts of products you can buy at the store to highlight. there’s some kits that come with a highliting comb that you can use to get the highlights you want.

Unless you know what your doing, highlights with or without foils, is not a good thing to do yourself at home. the least inexpensive way to get them done professionally is to call and get a consultation with a stylist, a good one should give you this for free(about 15 minutes), and discuss free handing or foiling some along your part line or around your face. This is definately your best option. Trust me, I’ve had people spend a lot more money and time to get their mistakes fixed than just getting it done professionally from the start!!

And when you use foils, you can use the stuff right out of your kitchen. Just tear them into big rectangles that are about 5 inches wide and as long as you need. (We used reynolds wrap at a Regis Hair saloon in the mall) Just section your hair up and weave through a section of hair that you want to highlight- like Steph said, it’s hard to explain so try finding it on youtube- just wanted you to know you can use foil from your kitchen :)
