How do you get busted for Limewire?

Yep. My sister and her boyfriend got busted downloading movies. They got busted by their own internet company and they got cut off.

It’s not illegal to download, it’s illegal to upload. They way they track you down for sharing is by tracing the IPs of people who share. If you disable all the “server”aspects of limewire, you are legally safe..

ummm while its technically illegal, the chances of getting busted for it are 1 in a million. Thats why everyone does it..

limewire is legal. the downloads are illegal. well the only way to get busted is by downloading a decoy file (eg. a movie thats been uploaded by fbi, its not the movie) and then they get your IP and come knocking at your door.

be safe and look at what you are downloading, also be careful on torrent sites, they use the same system. so I suggest use HTTP to download if you are too scared, though finding things on HTTP is difficult and the download might take longer.

I thougt limewire was leagal and frostwire was illegal
