How do you get a rat by asking your mom\dad?

I have 4 dogs and 2 horses and 2 fish and I want a rat real bad! But my mom\dad say no!!! How do I make them say “yes”?

Answer #1

If they said “no”, then it’s “no”.

I’m sure they have their reasons (personally it sounds like you have enough animals already), and if you start badgering them, it will only make them angry.

Accept that your parent’s word is final and you can get a rat when you have your own place.

Answer #2

First off you cant just get 1 rat, rats need to be kept in pairs at the least or else they get depressed which leads to death or them just being evil. If they say no then really all you can do is prove you’re responsible because rats are actually a big job, I have rats and I have to clean them so much every day.

Answer #3

I have been a rat owner and breeder for over 10 years. rats are one of the cleanest animals in the world, they are more inteligent than dogs, in the wild they are VERY hard to kill becouse when they find new food… one of the family group will “test” try the food first… is it gets sick the rest of the rats will pee on the food to “mark” it as BAD food and the rest will not touch it. rats are very lovable and prefer to be in close contact with the owner.( on your sholder, in your shirt). USA even have rat olimpics. they are complex thinkers and can solve basic problems. I even had a rat that lit a childproof lighter in front of me. rats live on average of 2 to 4 years. 99% of all rats you can find for pets are not wild (RATUS RATUS) they have been breed with the white lab rats, and are NOT natural carriers of illness( as stated by non-informed people). for more info search on the net for “fancyrats.com”
