How do I solve this (Alg. II)?

Okay, can you just show me how to do the first problem? lol

It’s x raised to the 3rd power plus 1. This (^) means raised to the _ power

  1. x^3 + 1
Answer #1

What are you trying to do? Solve for X? If so, do it like this.

X^3 + 1 is essentially X^3 + 1 = 0

So subtract 1 to get it onto the other side. (X^3 = -1)

Then, cube root X^3 and also cube root -1

So the answer is X = -1

Answer #2

Nevermind I figured it out, lol. It’s “factoring cubes” but heres how you would do it, just in case anyone else finds this question

x^3 + 1 = (x)^3 + (1)^3

         = (x+1)(x^2+(x)(1)+1^2

answer:

         = (x+1)(x^2+x+1)
