How do I secure a loan quickly for $2-$3000 very important?

The transmission in my car died and I need a car to keep going to work. No public transportation comes my way in time. I need to buy an inexpensive car right a way. Car loans will not approve me I have bad credit. Not with out large down payment. I figure I can buy a used car for the amount of the down payment required. I have bad credit but this is a real family emergency. Thanks

You’ll have to try a bad credit lender, unless you have family or friends who can loan you the money.

And you really can get a good reliable vehicle for less then $1000. I had my car catch fire and get burned out - had to find a new rig ASAP! Managed to find a 1990 S-10 for $800. Runs great. Roommate found a 93 Neon for $750. Don’t know exactly what the market is on cars around your area, but its something to keep in mind. Used car lots don’t always have the best deals. Hit up the local paper.

If you don’t know much about vehicles I HIGHLY recommend taking a mechanic friend with you.

For $2000-$3000 you will want to stay away from a Delaership (I work at one) Vehicles in that price range are not services or even looked over. These vehicles are sold as is and typically have several expensive mechanical problems. These vehicle are taken in on trade for $700-$1200. Anything under $700 is instantely wholesale.

Check your local paper or craigslist.
