So, I have naturally dark brown hair and I got highlights... After a while they grew out and I dyed my hair all over to hide them... Now, that colour has faded like crazy and my hair is now a light brown. Is there a way I can make it darker again where I don't have to re-dye it or grow it all out?
No there is not. But when you do dye it, use a color-saving shampoo. It increases color stay by up to 30%. 30 doesn't sound like a lot, but it actually is. You will notice results. Also, try and keep out of the sun after the first 2 days of dying it. You can go outside, obviously, just don't spend a day at the beach or sunbathe outside for 5 hours. The color is still settling in the 48 hours after it is dyed, too much heat/light/water exposure will make it lighten and not be as strong.
You can slightly darken it with a dark roast coffe treatment. You make a cup of coffe, wash your hair like normal, then rinse hair with coffee, and let sit in hair for 1 hour or overnight. If you want you can always use henna.
Sadly, no there is no way you can darken you hair without re-dying it.
