How do I know is my mated pug pregnant or not?
My almost 3 yr old pug was mated february 8, 10, and 12, 2010. Her nipples became bigger after 2 weeks and we hoped and treated her as pregnant. However, it’s already over 30 days now but there’s still no increase in the size of her belly. Her appetite increased but I noticed she also became thinner. She threw up last 2 days during the mornings, which is unusual. So we really do not know if she’s pregnant or not. It’s our first time to breed a pug. I want to have an ultrasound exam or xray but I want to know if results will be very accurate? Thanks!
Uhhh, Just go get an ultra-sound done at the vet’s office. Spay her after she has her pups PLEASE. -Dogluver.
If you’ve bred other dogs, then you must know that they don’t start showing until the last 3 weeks or so…throwing up (for dog) can be anything…from an overload of stomach juices (bile) to eating something they shouldn’t have, to being out and out sick. If she’s getting thin, then maybe the pups are taking all that she’s eating…time to feed her more.
You must also know, since you imply that you’ve bred other dogs, that you can take her to the Vet for an ultra-sound…that would not only show if she’s pregnant, but it would also tell you how many pups to expect.
You might as well have a Vet involved since this is a Pug. Their heads are quite large, and there may be problems at whelping time…might as well get your ducks in a row, just in case you need help.

Well of course you could take her to a vet. But I think you could touch her belly and feel for any movement or any thing that may feel ab-normal in her tummy.
