I have an 8 mnth jack russell, she recently went on heat, but hasnt been in contact with ant other dog apart from my fathers jack russell, the first show that we saw to confirm she was on heat was a day or two after she was in contact with my dads dog, the show was red, is it possible for her to be pregnant, her belly is swollen and her nipples have grew, also her appetite has picked up, what should I do.
Yes she probably is pregnant but a little to young. How old is your father's dog? If your puppy is pregnant then there is a slight possibility that the puppies that she has will be premature or smaller then usual as your puppy was already to young to breed. The average age for breeding a dog is 2 years old up to the age of 7 or 8 years old. I have a Jack Russell that is 7 years old and 7 weeks pregnant. I suggest that you contact your vet straight away and ask for advice on how to deal with a pregnant dog.
I agree with dullikeglitter...your pup IS a pup...If you don't have the knowledge now, what are you going to do when you pup has puppies??
What makes your JRT a good representative of the breed? What makes the male a good representative? You are an irresponsible breeder...
Get on the internet...you have a few weeks to learn what to do when she whelps...Get in contact with your Vet, so if things go south during whelping, you'll have someone competant to help you out.

Shut it? What do you know about animals that makes you so knowledgeable? I don't judge I tell it how it is, that was irresponsible. Getting an 8 month old puppy pregnant is like getting an 11 year old girl pregnant. Do you think that would be responsible?

Talk to your vet about it, ask him/her what he/she thinks.
Your dog is only a puppy at 8 months old. Why did you expose her to an unneutored male while she was in heat? That was terribly irresponsible of you.
