If you are serious about recording. You’re going to different pieces of equipment for different things. If you are recording off your computer you need a special mic. Whatever, instrument you want to play you’ll need a hook up that so the sound goes strainght to computer. Now if you can play a keyboard you can get a Korg, they are expensive, but worth the investment. Especially if you are doing this solo. You’ll have all types of sounds and a world full of beats to create. Some people also love to get a beat machine.

You’ll need the right computer software to edit. My best suggestion for getting started is to go somewhere like Guitar World, explain to them your intentions. They might try to sell you stuff you don’t need, but they can be very helpful you get the right sales person. You don’t have to buy anything yet just go in and look around and see what’s good. You cn do its just going to take a little though and planning. My friend has been there, he got everything slowly but surely each time his sound quality improved. Start simple and go from there. But check out the music store.

You are going to need instruments if you want guitar, bass, drums etc. You are going to need some sort of recording device that you can sing into. Then you need a program like Cubase, Fruity loops, Acid pro or pro tools. Thats where you put everything together and edit it how you want. When using programs like that there are samples you can use for drums, guitars and basses so that you dont have to buy the instruments. It really all depends on what kind of music you want to create. You could always just buy an acoustic guitar and a recorder (message me if you want a list of cheap but good ones) and just sit infront of that and sing and strum away.
