How do I adjust to college life?

Im moving to Washington State for college in the fall of 08. Im completely excited because of the new scenery and new experiences. But im also kinda nervous. Im from Virginia and I’ve been here my whole life, now im moving all the way across the country. How do I deal, so that I dont become completely consumed in the feeling of being so far away from my family and home?

Just think of it as a new experience and remember that you will eventually find your way back to Virginia and your family! I’m from Texas and I live in CA at the moment and I just try to call my parents and family at least every 2-3 days! We are still very close, even though I’m not there when we would usually get together on Sundays! :( Just find new friends that are interested in the same things as you and take the time to appreciate the city that you now live in! Also, try to visit them whenever you have the chance to! Good luck!
