How can I get rid of dark circles under my eyes?

I have really bad dark cirles under my eyes and they make me look tired or stoned all the time (which is really ugly) I’ve tried more sleep, it doesnt help. and I’ve tried coverup up which also doesnt help (weird, I know, it just doesnt cover the color) are there any weird things I’ve never heard of? like putting lemon juice on them or something? (there’s always some weird thing like that)

I also (had) very dark under eye circles/bags. How much water do you drink daily? Dark circles can mean you’re dehydrated, your allergies are being affected, or lack of sleep. The thing that doctors and such are always shouting at you is actually beneficial, drink 8 cups of water a day. Drinking adequate amounts of water will cause swelling to go down around your eyes and lighten the overall appearance. If you have allergies or have not been tested for allergies you should get tested by an allergist ( I was allergic to 60 things excluding foods). Ask your doctor for a referal to an allergyst (spelling?) if you experiance typical symptoms such as sneezing, puffy eyes, redened eyes, skin irritation, etc. or ask your doctor for an antihistamine (zyrtec, allegra, clarinex) or some kind of daily antihistamine. Also everyone’s sleep needs are different. If I get 10+ hours of sleep one night I’ll feel crappy the next day, so on a weekend or sometime when you don’t have school/work the next day, experiment one night by going to sleep at a time you usually don’t go the sleep. if you want to get up at 6:00 am, go to bed at 9::00pm to try to get 9 hrs of REST. sleep isnt’ the same as REST. you dont need to be disturbed. how WELL you sleep affects your appearance the next day :) get up as soon as the alarm goes off, jump around, stretch, and later in the day see if you feel any better, if not, try to get an hour more of sleep the next day if you still dont feel/ look better, get 7 hrs of rest. you probably shouldnt get less than 6 hours a night though, studies have shown that the avg person needs 6+ hours of REST each night to perform at a decent to good performance :) hope I helped! (oh yeah, also try in the morning the put a cool wash cloth on your eyes, I used to do this when I was young before I took antihistamines to make my swelling go down. I also use Almay stick concealer in light/medium because its a half shade lighter than my actually skin color and it brightens my eyes. I put one coat on, tap it with my finger, put another coat on -pay close attention to the insides of your eyes near your nose where it may be darker- then I complete the look with mineral powder to blend the concealer with my natural skin.) (drink WATER also evens your skin tone and can help clear your skin and help it to be more radiant along with brightening your eyes and making the whites of your eyes whiter and brighter!) (for even whiter whites, use navy mascara). Hope I helped :)

When using cover up for under your eyes, its important that you dab it on and not whip it on. I learnt that on T.V, because under the eye is very sensitive. So, try that and see if it looks any different.

yup, always something weird. Thanks!

Answer #5

Try a light reflecting concealer that specialises in making dark patches lighter. For example I find No.7 Light reflecting concealer pretty good which you can get in boots. Hope this helped x

Using sunscreen with at least 15 SPF (but preferably 20 SPF) everyday will prevent dark circles because the rays from the sun are extremely dangerous to your skin.
