Why is my 6 year old shih-tzu shaking?

The house isn’t cold! What’s wrong? I’m worried!

Answer #1

could he/she be scared?

Answer #2

Something may have frightened her or maybe she’s just excited to see you..my dog shakes all the time when she’s excited. If it doesn’t stop, maybe have a vet check her over.

Answer #3

Yeah usually she’ll shiver a bit and wag her tail but this time she was trembling hard and had her tail sinked in her booty like she was feeling bad ):

Answer #4

No. Well idk what she could be scared of :/

Answer #5

I find that small dogs usually shake when they’re scared, excited or cold. Have you tried sitting her on your lap and petting her a bit to see if she’d calm down?

Answer #6

Your dog is hold in avreage dog years. She is 42(on avreage) dog years.

Answer #7

that will only say, :good dog be scared shake alot!

Answer #8

Um.. no? That’s giving the animal reassurance that someone is there, and that it doesn’t have to be scared.

Answer #9

Luckily she stopped :D after I gave her a piece of cheese LOL. But I hope it doesn’t happen again.

Answer #10

well watch “the dog whisperer” tv show and see about that

Answer #11

i mean 3 above from this comment

Answer #12

I have a shih-tzu and she shakes all the time, well she use to. She’s old now… :/ But your dog might be shaking because it’s cold or excited. That is why my dog always shakes… It’s nothing to be worried about though. :D

Answer #13

There’s a difference between encouraging bad behaviour and showing your animal that you care about it. An animal shaking is completely different than it being some unruly, unmanageable, bad dog. And, well, that’s mainly what Dog Whisperer focuses on. Unruly animals. o_O

Answer #14

Answer #16

sorry to put it this way but maybe, she may have epilepsy. So you should take her to a doctor to solve this and worry yourself free.

Answer #17

An epileptic seizure is quite different from general shaking - I’m sure she can tell the difference.

Answer #18

Lol yes I can. But thanks though she stopped (:
