History of Gossip Girl

if anyone can (or has the time, lol), can you tell me wut the whole show is, like wut’s going on? cause my friend told me about it and I watched 2 episodes, the one when Nate’s dad get’s arrested and the one when Blair turns 17, but I have no idea wut is going on otherwise. any info on the show up til today wud be great.

p.s. the only characters that I know are: Nate, Blair, Vanessa, Jenny, Rufus, Dan, Alison, Chuck(I kinda like him, lol), Nate’s parents, and whoever Dan is dating (I forgot her name).
