Help me undersand one line in a song.

Okay, so theres one song thats been circulating in my mind for the past few weeks & it’s called ‘Baby’ by Serj Tankian - it’s a good song, well it’s a brilliant song but I don’t really understand one line so here goes.

“Fighting for what we decieve”

I understand what fighting is and I am about 98% sure that decieving is lying?

It doesn’t make sense in my mind, someone rephrase it?

song meanings are how YOU intrepret the song. Decieve does mean lie, a trick. I’ve never heard the song but the line reminds me of politics and love or whatnot. Kinda like people fighting for what they believe in but its all in their head because its not real. I don’t know I can’t make much of it, but its how you see it. Maybe watch the music video or look up song meanings in google.
