if you eat 1,200 cals and you burn 600, you won't lose weight?

Hi guys. I need all the help I can get.

I work out every single day except for Saturdays. I burn roughly around 600-700 calories in one hour. I eat around 1,200-1,400 calories. My best friend’s mom is a doctor and she told me that to just keep our body functioning, your body needs 1,200 calories. Now, I’ve been reading that people say if you eat 1,200 cals and you burn 600 cals then it’s like you’re only eating 600cals and with that, you won’t lose any weight.

Is this true? I haven’t seen my best friend’s mom in a while but I’ll ask her. I just want to know what you guys know or think.

Thanks.

No, that’s not true. The numbers are getting a little mixed up here.

If you were to do absolutely nothing but lie on the floor and stare at the ceiling 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, your body would need anywhere from 1,200 to 1,500 calories just to keep blood pumping through your body and keep your neurons firing on all cylinders. Since you work out every day, you’re adding another 700 calories burned thanks to the workout. Let’s call it an average of 2,000 calories a day burned.

So you’re running a caloric deficit right now.
