Could you be heavy but still be considered anorexic?

Because I don’t eat a lot, less than a meal a day, but I’m not like 80 lbs. So would I be anorexic or just considered an eating disorder?

Answer #1

Anorexia is a disorder in which a person is obsessively fearful of gaining any sort of weight. No, it is not always an underweight person who is anorexic. It is like a mental disorder. A person with anorexia will obsess over their weight, watch every single calorie they eat.

Answer #2

kind of. when your anorexic you have to have missed your period for three months and have a BMI of 15 percent or less. but even if your not you can still have anorexic behaviors and its just as dangerous becasue then your weight can get dangerously low.

Answer #3

I checked today, I have a bmi of 8.63 and I get my period every 5 or so months…

Answer #4

If your bmi was 8.63 you’d be dead man.

Answer #5

That’s what it said when I checked it… I thought it was super low too.

Answer #6

@ elleen Periods being missed are in extreme cases because I have been fighting it for years and have never missed my period. And you either have anorexia or you don’t “anorexic behaviors” are just bad eating habits. Anorexia is a mental problem and if you truly have it you wouldn’t even think about eating something let alone eating it.
