My favorite s the Winchester House in San Jose.It was built by the widow of William Winchester, the famous Civil War rifle maker. When he died his wife thought that if she stopped building the house, his spirit would haunt her or something. There are stairs that go up into the solid ceiling and doors that open up to the outside on the second floor. You can do a guided tour during the day or if your brave enough, go at midnight wit a flashlight and explore the house when no electricity is on.
Hey Writergirl, haunted houses and such are just for fun if you like to be scared. One of the stupidest things I have ever heard of is grown-up people believing in ghosts! One thing you can be sure of is that behind every "supernatural" event lurks a living, breathing person.
Hey again, Writergirl. Imagine we are in a normal house. The air conditioner comes on by itself. What caused it? Was it a ghost, or was it a mechanical device?
Now imagine we're in a haunted house. A door shuts by itself. What caused it?
You've heard of Harry Houdini. Have you read his biography? He spent a lot of time researching the paranormal. He was skeptical, but kept an open mind. He was trying to contact his dead mother. Gooogle him. You might find it interesting.
I read about that. Sarah or Sara Winchester. her only child and her husband died and she went to a psychic that said she needed to start building or the spirits of the ppl killed by the rifles would kill her or somethin along those lines :P

how can you be sure? I believe in haunted things and things that cant possibly be explained by science and you should to!
