I would go because it does give you a bit more of an advantage if you aren’t currently employed but if you really think it’s a waste of time phone them up because you need to keep them updated with what you are doing currently.

Yes, when you dont comply with the regulations that they ask of you they have the right to stop payment immediatly. They set up the classes for a reason and considering they are giving you free money and assistance it would have been proper to follow their helpful advice and regulations.

Their answer is consistent with UK law if you miss the class, your benefit will be stopped immediately, though you have the right to appeal against the decision, but that does not mean that your appeal will be upheld. I recommend you attend the 2 day session unless you can afford to lose your benefit, and would rather just have the time free rather than actually doing what your benefit is being paid for.
