unfortunately, i have several things working against me when it comes to the wedding gift. Fortunately i have several months to decide, perhaps secretly questioning the bride would help since you mention it depending on the both of them, especially since i've never met the groom. Thank you for your suggestions Torri and hopefully this reply lands where it should! as newbie it takes time to work out some of the kinks of a site .....
It really depends on how much you really want(can) to spend...what this couple means to you! Most people give a check with a nice card & that's that! Some get them some kitchen appliance like a toaster, coffee machine...set of dishes...Engraved Champagne glasses...full spa treatment for an X amount time...A weekend get away..Hell some are so extreme they get bank bonds... The sky is the limit...Nothing surprises me anymore! :P
A newly wed couple might not have much of decorative items in their house. You can give them a nicely engraved inlay wall art that they could hang on their wall. I got one an exquisite wall art from MarqArt for my cousin when she got married a few months ago. She has hung it on the wall and says its a great conversation piece! check out their collection, it's quite reasonably priced.

Yes, cost is a factor and thankfully I have a couple of months before the wedding. The weddings I'm use to are young couples that are just starting out in life however this couple is much older and are more established as a couple too so there lies the dilemma. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll keep them in mind as I make a final decision.

This definitely made me chuckle! As i never expected an answer such as this. It's been awhile since I've attended a wedding and I definitely am feeling old fashioned. I am not above trying something such as this but unfortunately do not know the couple that well. Thank you for your suggestion.
My mom is a bridesmade or whatever & her wedding gift to them is a bikini made out of those candy things that they make necklaces/bracelets out of. She said wedding gifts should be dirty. So go to spencers. :L So awkward shopping with her.
It depends on the bride and groom. I would give them something they could both use! My mom got a chocolate fondue maker which really helps at parties! But remember to watch the prices! Lol
Thank you Seeker ... they are an older couple so that is where the decision becomes more complicated. Had they been a younger couple i could have easily made a decision ....... :)
Sounds great, thanks!
