Is it okay for my friend to use her mom's visa card?

Well for my birthday this weekend, my best friend and I are going to New York City… and are probably going to do a little shopping. Her mom just told her she could use her visa card. I just wanted to make sure that was okay.. because I didn’t want to drive all the way there and someone say something, and her not have any money. (: Any answers are appreciated!

It’s quite common for people to use other’s cards with permission. You shouldn’t have any problems.

For the most cases no one will care - which is kinda scary. CC companies don’t really seem to care much about the signature they get on a transaction. And a lot of clerks don’t ask for ID they just run the card.

If the card says “See ID” on the back you might have trouble with one or two clerks.

It’s fine as long as the owner of the credit card is aware that someone else will use the card.
